The period of time to complete recovery is much longer than the time it takes for the pain to subside. This often leads the athlete to a premature resumption of activities that can re-injure the joint.

When healthy, we usually experience (low) Pain and (high) Performance. When we have an injury, at that moment they switch; Leaving us with (high) Pain and (low) Performance.

The pain subsides during the recovery phase leaving us with (low) Pain and (low) Performance as the pain drops below our acceptable pain limit.

We often return to exercise without adequately recovering from all the soft tissue issues; for many non-contact repetitive stress injuries, this may require working on the joints superior and inferior to the knee, while strengthening the flexor and extensor mechanisms.

At the Ankle:

The ankle joint is required to deal with the Ground Reaction Force (GRF) from the foot and set up the tibial-plateau position by internally rotating while bending the knee.

At the Hip:

We will need to control the internal and external rotation with the hip muscles rather than the more common pathology of the lateral hamstring, controlling most of the rotation at the femur.

How To Measure Your Thigh Circumference

Steps:

Sit with your thigh in a relaxed position relaxed
Find (6) Inches or (15) Centimeters superior (above) to the knee cap
Use a fabric tape measure (or string + a ruler) to measure around your thigh

How to Find Body Type

Rather than a knee brace that is divided into Male and Female we have divided it into body types which are more in relation to proportion of thigh/Calf circumference, give you a more secure fit.

Rubber Hardness
